WRENCH Solutions (formerly CADD Solutions) was started in 1994 by Varghese Daniel with the aim to provide niche software solutions to the then-fledgling market of automated engineering design and drawing. From this beginning, and being from the industry itself, Mr. Daniel saw a tremendous opportunity for a software product that would provide a truly comprehensive, high-value solution. Over time, as technology itself evolved, the functionality of WRENCH grew, and slowly the single product was spun off into a series of products that addressed specific verticals.
WRENCH started out as a generic product/project life cycle management (PLM) product. After working closely with multiple large companies to implement earlier versions, it became clear that the need was for far more than just PLM or 'process automation'; what customers really needed was an end-to-end software solution that addressed ALL the needs of ALL their departments across the enterprise - engineering & design, business/sales, customer services, management, internal administration etc.
Why is it called WRENCHWRENCH name has evolved from the universal tool PIPE WRENCH.
When ever there is a problem in flow in a pipeline a Pipe Wrench is the tool used to open up the pipe and pipe fitting to clear the issue as it can be adjusted to a range of pipe sizes. WRENCH has been designed as a universal tool with a vision to clear the specific blocks in the organisation information flow and make them work as efficiently as technology would allow them to.
A few years ago, the company realized that it needed an 'edge' to survive in a very competitive market, with everyone playing for high stakes in what is essentially a very conservative industry. Looking back over its repertoire to find that 'edge', the differentiator became obvious: DOMAIN EXPERTISE!
Over the years, a vast reservoir of domain expertise - in the fields of product lifecycle management, document management, knowledge management and allied areas had been built up. The next logical step for the company's innovative brains was simple enough: Why should not this valuable knowledge base be coupled with excellent technology skills to create a world-class software product?
In 1997, the first version of WRENCH was built and implemented at Kennametal Widia. Over the next few years some of the largest names in the industry followed suit, including Mico Bosch, BEL, BHEL, ETC. The product's value proposition, which remains unchanged, was to offer a time and cost-effective solution that would reduce cycle time, delivery time and vastly improve productivity & quality.
With a core team of highly skilled and experienced 80 engineers, domain and industry experts, the company has over the years earned its reputation as a trusted technology partner for many world class-engineering companies.
Wrench Solutions today is headquartered in Bangalore, India. Wrench has offices in New Delhi, Chennai, Thiruvananthapuram and R&D centre in Kochi.
