One of the leading Engineering companies in Canada, Tetratech WEI implemented WRENCH last year and was able to role out WRENCH on a few large mining projects. One of the challenges faced by these organisation was in managing projects that are executed by multiple office located in Canada, US and other off shore locations. "Many of the large Engineering companies are handling projects in location outside North America and work is been executed by multiple offices, hence it has become a necessity to have a platform for collaboration, communication and monitoring to ensure that deliverables are delivered on time with Quality" said Sam Thomas. "When an organization adopts a system-driven rather than a manual-driven style of Collaboration and project management, it sees huge savings on all fronts almost immediately. Engineering deliverables can be monitored online hence projects can be executed on-time, on-budget with 100% quality. This is what we have to offer to the North American engineering industry and we believe that US and Canada will be an important market for us" added Varghese Daniel, Founder and CEO, WRENCH Solutions. Green Field Island Power project in Singapore. WRENCH will be set up as the
online project Control systems across consultants, third-party vendors, and
internal teams. Green Field Island Power, one of the first in Singapore to use re-gasified gas from the LNG terminal on Jurong Island, was stalled until recently due to third-party gas pipeline import issues but in 2009 received a fresh lease on life with the entry of GMR, and is now owned by GMR Infrastructure and a Siemens-Samsung consortium. With 70 per cent of the project likely to be debt-financed, WRENCH was chosen in part because of its ability help project organizations manage risk across shareholders. WRENCH will be the online platform for tracking and monitoring project interactions and documents including engineering and correspondence, as well as fast collaboration across groups. All prescribed procedures will be enforceable automatically across teams, ensuring quality as well as ready-to-hand transaction history and documentary 'evidence' for each deliverable. Internally, all changes will be automatically recorded and automatically shared to relevant personnel. This should cut down on processing time and human error, enabling deliverables to be completed on time and within budget. Even if there is a delay, the source can be quickly identified and set right. .. and since delay is inevitable in most projects, WRENCH will help contain damage and get back on track as quickly and painlessly as possible. 15-January-2011 Solving a wrenching problem Dubai: It wasn't that long ago that everyone in the local construction and real estate sectors would swear by project management and everything that it stood for. Then the property markets eased and projects got delayed or ran aground, and it became a term of vilification. Now as a nascent revival is sighted in construction activity, the time has come to give project management its due and integrate it better within wider scheme of things. One company which hopes this will be the case is Wrench Solutions and its founder Daniel Varghese. "An organisation today wants to be totally on top of each deliverable and budget and [thus] ensure profitability on every project," said Varghese. "We have received several enquiries in the last two quarters and are considering them at the moment. I believe this is a good sign and shows the correlation between the improving market conditions." The company, which launched its operations in India and later ventured into the UAE technology sector, specialises in automated process management solutions. Its local credentials have been boosted by winning contracts from engineering and architectural majors Al Habtoor, Murray & Roberts, and Khatib & Alami. Now, with a gradual upturn in project led activity, Wrench Solutions is hoping for more. The company also announced the appointment of S. Ravishankar, as Regional Director for Australia who will drive sales operations and develop new business opportunities in the region. In recent years the APAC region has seen tremendous growth in large-scale construction projects, with an estimated $400 billion worth of infrastructure projects planned for the next decade. But according to industry experts there is also a critical shortage of skilled engineering manpower which will greatly constrain the ability to deliver on these projects. “Our technology is absolutely tailor-made for this situation; it helps engineering organizations deliver projects on time (and to expected quality standards) without taking on new resources. This is achieved by greatly reducing dependency on human effort and significantly increasing efficiency across all project processes - and therefore letting organizations get more out of their existing infrastructure” said S. Ravishankar. “When an organization adopts a system-driven rather than a manager-driven style of project management, it sees huge savings on all fronts almost immediately. Engineering cycle time is cut down by at least 40%, productivity goes up 20-30%, and quality automatically becomes 100% in all deliverables. This is what we have to offer to the Australian engineering and construction industry and we believe that Australia will be an important market for us” added Varghese Daniel, Founder and CEO, WRENCH Solutions. Oct-2009 Energy City Qatar chooses to implement WRENCH Enterprise to integrate all project stakeholders and to monitor them in real-time Automation and collaboration to reduce the cycle time of project and go GREEN.
Energy City opted for WRENCH Enterprise™ because of the richness and relevance of features offered, and its proven track record in the infrastructure projects. Unlike similar solutions (i.e. DMS and EDMS), WRENCH Enterprise™ was created specifically for the project process and so incorporates industry best practices and knowledge of Infrastructure organizations' business needs and internal workings. Energy City conducted an in-depth evaluations on several products that offered document/file management and web collaboration before choosing WRENCH. Results showed that no other system tied together all their requirements in a single solution, or offered unique advantages like automated enforcement of quality (ISO) and project correspondence management, or system-driven knowledge archival and multilevel security options. Seeing this, Energy City decided to adopt ‘Lean & Green' methodologies demonstrated by WRENCH Enterprise with a view to cutting out waste and improving efficiency across their entire project lifecycle and reduce the carbon footprint. "We define ‘Lean & Green methodology' as a set of practices that make the project lifecycle efficient and cost-effective by cutting out everything not essential to customer satisfaction" said Varghese Daniel, Director of WRENCH Solutions. Our solution applies these practices to the project process via software technology. With it, companies like Energy City can reduce waste and increase efficiency, use their existing resources to maximum potential and also reduce the carbon footprint to the minimum by working in a paperless environment.
